

Brisbane German Week Opening Night Gala

Brisbane's 10th German Week will be opened in STYLE –
with a spectacular gala evening celebrating unity, creativity, and the future of cultural exchange.

What to expect
6:00 PM - Classical entertainment by the Queensland Youth Orchestras providing soft musical ambience as well as a Welcome to Country by Marbie (Wamba Wamba) and of course the German Youth Choir singing our National Anthems, plus a little special extra.
6:30 PM - Opening remarks and welcome speeches by The Premier of Queensland, The Lord Mayor of Brisbane, our Deputy Ambassador and the Honorary Consul of Germany – reflecting on the past decade, centenary and the shared future of Brisbane, Queensland and Germany.
7:30 PM - A curated fashion showcase by FAT.X (FAshion Talents Xchange) in partnership with QUT Fashion Design and Berlin Fashion Week's NEO.FASHION. under the theme The Future of Fashion, featuring:

Gina Melosi Fine Jewellery | Berlin
Gina Melosi, originally founded in London and now based in Berlin, is known for creating conceptual, gender-neutral fine jewellery with a strong focus on ethical sourcing and sustainability. Her collections combine avant-garde aesthetics with artisanal precision, often working with Fairmined metals, responsibly sourced or lab-grown gemstones, and both traditional and digital techniques. Inspired by broken and overlooked materials, Melosi explores contrasts of texture, structure and fluidity, shaping a distinctive voice in contemporary jewellery.

Collaboration with Lennart Bohle
Lennart Bohle is a rising German fashion designer and certified tailor whose work blends classical craftsmanship with experimental silhouettes and textile innovation. He was recently honoured with the Goldene Seidenschleife, a prestigious German fashion award for emerging designers. In the past, the award has been given to figures such as Karl Lagerfeld, Hugo Boss and Wolfgang Joop, making Bohle part of an important legacy.
The collaboration between Gina Melosi and Lennart Bohle brings together jewellery artistry and couture design. It reflects a shared vision of sustainability, innovation and bold aesthetics, highlighting two of Germany’s most exciting creative voices whose work bridges tradition and the future of fashion.
